Lotus Cup Europe
First championship title for a Lotus Emira GT4

The LAIQON sponsored Lotus Emira GT4 driven by Professor Wolfgang Henseler was the new entrant in this years Lotus Cup Europe series. Operated by Team Komotec from Lotus at Ring, Mendig/Germany the new Lotus Emira GT4 won the GT class with several GT class wins and beat all of the competing Lotus Evora GT4 cars.

In its first year of competition in the Lotus Cup Europe the new Lotus Emira GT4 gained 4 GT class wins and 6 second places resulting in the overall GT class championship 2024.

Experiencing several challenges as a new racecar the Lotus Emira GT4 did compete quite well right from the beginning of the season. Despite the fact driver Wolfgang Henseler could not take part in both Zolder races at midseason the amount of championship points gathered before and afterwards in the races at Hockenheim, Magny Cours, Spa-Franchorchamps, Anneau du Rhin and the season final at Dijon were more than enough to secure a clear championship title win (138 points advantage).

Especially the heavy rain race at Spa Franchorchamps where Henseler could finish 3rd overall and became winner in it´s class demonstrated the full potential of the car and its driver.
Former formula one driver René Arnoux handed the championship trophy over to Laiqon Lotus Emira GT4 driver Professor Wolfgang Henseler Team Komotec.
