Komo-Tec KoBra-4-4-Sportbrakesystem Evora 400
(Front and rear axles, 378/362 mm)
Now our Ko-Bra 4-4 braking system is available for the Lotus Evora 400 Range, too. We use a 378mm (370mm Standard) Brake disc on the front and a 362mm (350mm Standard) brake disc on the rear axle of the manufacturer PFC (Performance Friction Brakes) with a screwed alloy-pod. The pods are manufactured out of F52 alloy. By using the two-part brake disc, and a larger rotor diameter, thus lower fading tendency. This all is figured without increasing the brake disc weight. The weight of the front disc is 9.0kg. (9.1 Standard) at the rear discs are there 8,9kg (10,3kg Standard). The original caliper is still used and distances with an adapter. The delivery incl. PFC brake pads front and rear.
Additional advantages of the “floating discs” on the front axle:
The new friction rings have a smaller friction surface, so that in combination with optimized brake pads we generate a higher braking capacity and at the same time better heat dissipation. Due to the lower disc temperature, the expansion and thus the unbalance are lower. This (unbalance and temperature) minimizes the transmission of the loads to the brake pot, ensures less tension in the overall system and thus also protects the wheel bearings from increased wear. The grooves serve for better cooling, the removal of the brake dust and at the same time as a wear level indicator. In contrast to the floating discs installed by Lotus in the early Cup models, PFC works with a patented fastening system in order to keep the otherwise clattering discs almost noise-free thanks to spring preload.
When replacing the friction disc later, the alloy pot can be reused and only the friction ring itself has to be replaced (much cheaper than the factory discs)!

Replacement Friction Rotors for Kobra-Brake System
Our KoBra-Brake System is equipped with two-piece brake discs (alloy pot + friction rotors)
If the rotors are worn (no slots left or cracks through the outer diameter) you have to replace it.
Here in the article you can get all the available options of replacement rotors. We deliver a set for one axle (1x LH and 1x RH rotor incl. the fitting kit / bobbins. Normally you can continue with the alloy-pot that exists.
The following variants are used:
a) 295mm-Rotors
Use: KoBra 2 with 2pot-Standard-Caliper front for Elise, Exige and 2-Eleven using 4Zyl-Powertrain (incl. Fitting)
b) 308mm-Rotors
Use: Lotus Big Brake Kit with 4Pot-AP-Caliper as a replacemnt for the Standard-Rotor frontfor Elise, Exige and 2-Eleven using 4Zyl-Powertrain (incl. Bobbin-Kit)
c) 313mm-Rotors
Use: KoBra 4 and KoBra 4-2 with Komo-Tec-Caliper front and rear for Elise, Exige and 2-Eleven using 4Zyl-Powertrain (incl. Bobbin-Kit). Attention: Rotors come "dyno-bedded"!
e) 343mm-Rotors FLOATED
Use: KoBra 4-4 FLOATED with 4Pot-AP-Standard-Caliper front and rear for Exige V6 Range and 3-Eleven (incl. Fitting)
f) 362mm-Rotors
Use: KoBra 4 and KoBra 4-4 with 4Pot-AP-Standard-Caliper front for Evora (or Evora 400 rear, incl. Fitting)
g) 378mm-Rotors FLOATED
Use: KoBra 4-4 FLOATED with 4Pot-AP-Standard-Caliper front for Evora 400 Range (incl. Fitting)
