After the success of our turbodrive concept with Toyota (250S) and Honda (330R) engines, using Rotrex centrifugal chargers, we have decided to introduce a concept for Rover engines as well. Unlike other compressor concepts we have left the engine compression ratio at its original level. Instead, we have reduced the boost pressure to 0,35bar. This brings the advantage of reduced effort and costs to disassemble the engine as well as lower charger pressure and temperature. Our experience from the Rover Turbo concepts we built in the past shows us that use of standard piston is uncomplicated The concept further includes an optimized -air intercooler system where the intercooler system is placed in the left side of the engine bay behind the air intake. For customers who prefer using the car on racetracks mainly or in very hot conditions we could offer our water cooled intercooler system, where we locate an intercooler in the engine bay, and a heat exchanger unit in the front of the car . The water-cooled intercooler is more expensive than an air-cooled intercooler, but also three times more effective. The kit can be fitted on Elise 120hp and 160hp Rover engines (Elise 111 / 111S). 4. Phase K170 Upgrade +48hp/+20Nm Elise Mk1/2 (K16)
Our proven Phase 4 - Performance kit generates about 168 hp and 185 Nm of torque!Main component of the Phase 4 Kits is our special-manufactured cylinderhead with CNC-machined channels and combustion chambers for optimum flow values. So you do not have to spent so much money for enlarged valves to make this necessary (http://komo-tec.com/Shop/Elise/MK2-Rover-2001-2004/Motorkomponenten/Zylinderkopfbearbeitung-Stufe-1.html).We are optimizing the air flow by the use of a Reverie-airbox with sport airfilter in conjunction with an aluminum-VVC-intake that improves the flow. To make effective use of the optimal channels and valves in the cylinder head, sport camshafts and adjustable camshaft sprockets are used. This allows a higher degree of filling the cylinder again. An adjustable power boost fuel valve ensures the necessary fuel enrichment to safe the exhaust emissions. With our specially adapted sports HJS catalyst (200cpi) we obtain a strong and durable overall system with excellent power output.The fuel power boost valve that is used in phase 3 is in phase 4 replaced by an Emerald controller unit, which is able to set all parameters directly and to modify the overall system as we/you want to (for example max. rev and Shift Light). Cylinder head modification phase 1
Rover K series cylinder head stage 1. CNC-ported K series cylinder head, standard valve sizes. Ported inlet and exhaust, modified valve seats, all done by CNC machining, this offers a perfect high quality porting. The development head was machined and tested on flow bench, before we start the production of the heads. We offer 2 different versions, the "standard" cylinder head machining, and the cylinder head machining inkluding new valves. The cylinder head is a replacement part, so we´ll need back your old part. If you not agree with this, we´ll have to rise a charge of 300,- Euro.
