KOMO-TEC stainless steel header for Elise with 2ZR engine

The KOMO-TEC stainless steel header was specifically developed for performance-enhanced Lotus models and modifications with the Toyota 2ZR engine. As a KOMO-TEC proprietary product, it offers a significantly optimized exhaust flow compared to the standard exhaust header and is particularly suitable for vehicles where additional power and improved throttle response are a priority.

The flow-optimized pipe routing with matched pipe lengths supports a uniform exhaust flow. The transition from the 45 mm pipes to the specially designed 4-in-1 collector keeps the flow velocity high and minimizes disruptive turbulence.

Significant improvement over the stock part

The stock exhaust header features pipes with a diameter of only about 35 mm. With a pipe diameter of 45 mm, the KOMO-TEC header offers a significantly enlarged flow cross-section.

The reduced exhaust back pressure improves the charge exchange and creates the conditions for higher engine power as well as increased torque. At the same time, the optimized exhaust routing can positively influence the air-fuel ratio.

The actual additional power achievable depends on the respective vehicle configuration, the other installed components, and the engine tuning.

Optimized 4-in-1 design

The four primary pipes are combined in a flow-optimized 4-in-1 collector. Tuned pipe lengths and clean transitions support even cylinder emptying and reduce mutual influences of the exhaust pulses.

This makes the manifold particularly suitable for performance-oriented 2ZR conversions, where the potential of the standard exhaust manifold is no longer sufficient.

Handcrafted stainless steel construction

The KOMO-TEC header is completely hand-formed and TIG-welded. The careful processing ensures precise transitions, high-quality welds, and high durability under the temperatures encountered in sporty use.

The stainless steel construction combines high thermal resistance with long-term corrosion protection.

Important note

The header is only compatible with the designated KOMO-TEC sports catalytic converter. Installation with the standard catalytic converter or other non-matched components is not possible.

After installation, the air-fuel ratio and engine tuning must be checked. Depending on the vehicle configuration, an adjustment of the engine software may be necessary to ensure safe engine operation and full performance potential.

Installation requires extensive technical knowledge and must be carried out by a qualified specialist.
