KOMO-TEC KoBra-4-4-F sports brake system for Lotus Exige V6 and 3-Eleven
The KOMO-TEC KoBra-4-4-F sports brake system combines maximum braking performance with a significant reduction in unsprung masses. It was specifically developed for the Lotus Exige Mk3 V6 and the Lotus 3-Eleven and is particularly suitable for sporty vehicles as well as demanding track use.
Two-piece, floating-mounted brake discs from Performance Friction Brakes are used on the front and rear axles. The grooved PFC friction rings are combined with specially manufactured brake disc pots made of high-quality F52 aluminum.
With a diameter of 343 mm, the brake discs are 11 mm larger than the standard 332 mm discs. Despite the larger dimensions, the overall weight is reduced by about 3.2 kg compared to the stock system.
Floating-mounted PFC brake discs
The floating mounting allows the friction rings to expand in a controlled manner at high temperatures. This reduces thermal stresses as well as the risk of temperature-related deformations.
This improves stability and ensures a consistent pedal feel even during repeated hard braking. At the same time, the aluminum pots and adjacent components are less stressed by the thermal expansion of the friction rings.
The special PFC spring preload system reduces the typical mechanical noises associated with floating brake discs and enables an almost noise-free floating construction.
Grooved PFC friction rings
The grooved friction rings assist in cleaning the pad surface and direct brake dust, wear, and generated gases away from the contact area. At the same time, the groove pattern facilitates visual inspection of the wear condition.
When replacing the brake discs later, only the worn friction rings need to be replaced. The aluminum pots can be reused as long as they remain within the technical wear and dimensional specifications. This reduces long-term operating costs.

Important installation note
The installation requires extensive technical knowledge and must be carried out by a qualified specialist company. After installation, the brake system must be properly bled, and all connections, clearances, and tightening torques must be checked.
New brake discs and brake pads must be bedded in according to the specified break-in procedure before full braking performance is utilized.
Note on acceptance
A TÜV registration via individual acceptance according to § 19 Abs. 2 StVZO is possible in our facility. Use in public road traffic is only permitted after successful acceptance and registration.
