Drexler Lamella Limited-Slip Differential for Lotus
More engine power only leads to better performance when the available torque is reliably transferred to the road. The Drexler Lamella Limited-Slip Differential improves power distribution between the driven wheels, allowing for more traction, higher driving stability, and more controlled acceleration out of corners.
Especially in performance-enhanced vehicles, sporty road use, and on the racetrack, a high-quality limited-slip differential is one of the most effective improvements to the drivetrain.
Motorsport-proven lamella technology
In contrast to an open differential, the Drexler Lamella Limited-Slip Differential can control the drive torque distribution to both drive wheels.
Specially tuned friction plates create a defined locking effect and reduce the spinning of the unloaded inner corner wheel. This allows the available engine power to be used more effectively when accelerating out.
The result is a more precise, predictable driving behavior with significantly improved traction.
Special KOMO-TEC tuning for Lotus V6
The version for the Lotus V6 models was specifically tailored to the requirements of these vehicles in close collaboration between Drexler Automotive and KOMO-TEC.
Factors such as vehicle weight, torque, drive concept, and intended use were taken into account. The tuned locking characteristic combines harmonious function in sporty road use with high effectiveness during track days and on the racetrack.
The special V6 version is intended for:
Lotus Exige V6
Lotus Evora
Lotus 3-Eleven
The exact compatibility must be checked before ordering based on vehicle model, year of manufacture, engine specification, and transmission version.
Individually adjustable for the intended use
Depending on the vehicle, transmission version, and intended use, the characteristic of the friction locking differential can be adjusted.
Possible areas of application include:
Sporty road use
Performance enhancements
Track days
Circuit operation
Motorsport
The appropriate version is determined based on the vehicle and the desired use. A very high locking effect is not automatically the best solution for every application. What matters is a harmonious coordination with the overall vehicle concept.
Advantages
Significantly improved traction when accelerating out
Controlled power distribution to both drive wheels
Reduced slip at the unloaded drive wheel
More precise and predictable driving behavior
Improved driving stability during sporty use
More effective use of the available engine power
Especially recommended for performance-enhanced vehicles
Motorsport-proven lamella technology
Specifically tuned KOMO-TEC version for Lotus V6 models
Different settings possible depending on the application
High-quality development and manufacturing in Germany
High mechanical load capacity
Maintenance-friendly and durable construction
Especially recommended for power increases
With increasing engine power and higher torque, the demands on power transmission increase significantly. An open differential often cannot fully transfer the additional power, especially at the exit of a curve.
The Drexler plate locking differential improves traction and makes the additional engine power more usable. It does not increase engine power itself, but it can significantly improve acceleration, drivability, and lap times.
In combination with a tuned chassis, suitable tires, and precise axle alignment, the limited-slip differential unleashes its full potential.
Scope of delivery
1 × Drexler plate limited-slip differential in vehicle-specific design
Differential bearings, seals, transmission oil, and other mounting parts are not included in the scope of delivery unless explicitly listed as part of the chosen variant.
Renew differential bearings
To install the limited-slip differential, the transmission must be removed and opened. We strongly recommend renewing the differential bearings during the installation.
The additional material cost is low in relation to the overall work involved. If already used bearings are reused and later fail, the transmission must be removed and disassembled again. Therefore, the precautionary replacement represents a sensible investment in the reliability and lifespan of the drivetrain.
Important installation note
The installation must be carried out by a qualified transmission or motorsport specialist.
During installation, the following points must be professionally checked and adjusted, among others:
Condition of the transmission
Differential bearings
Bearing preload
Tooth flank play
Contact pattern of the gearing
Seals and shaft seals
Suitable transmission oil specification
Clearance and proper function
Depending on the tuning, transmission oil, and operating condition, additional mechanical noises or reactions may occur in the shunting operation with a limited-slip differential. These may be due to design and do not automatically represent a technical defect.
The prescribed maintenance and oil change intervals must be adhered to.
