KOMO-TEC performance phase Work490 for Lotus Exige V6 and Evora S
The KOMO-TEC performance phase Work490 combines the powerful Edelbrock supercharger of the Lotus Exige Sport 410 and Cup 430 with an integrated water-to-air intercooler, an optimized intake, a high-performance exhaust system, and software precisely tuned for the standard engine control unit.
The result is approximately 490 hp and 515 Nm. Compared to a standard vehicle with 350 hp and 400 Nm, this represents an increase of around 140 hp and 115 Nm.
The Work490 is exclusively offered for vehicles with manual transmission.
Performance data
| Version | Power | Torque |
|---|---|---|
| Work490 manual vehicle | approx. 490 hp | approx. 515 Nm |
| Standard vehicle | approx. 350 hp | approx. 400 Nm |
| Performance increase | approx. 140 hp | approx. 115 Nm |
The actual values achieved may vary slightly depending on vehicle condition, fuel quality, environmental conditions, and test bench.
Edelbrock supercharger with integrated intercooler
Lotus uses the Edelbrock supercharger with integrated water-to-air intercooler as standard in the powerful Exige models Sport 410 and Cup 430.
For the Work490, this system has been adapted with the necessary modifications for other Lotus V6 models. The larger compressor provides additional power reserves while maintaining the production-like appearance of the most powerful Lotus V6 models.
Water-Air Intercooler System
The integrated intercooling dissipates the heat generated during compression through a separate water circuit. An electric water pump transports the coolant between the intercooler in the compressor system and the heat exchanger at the front of the vehicle.
Compared to an uncooled configuration, the intake air temperature can be reduced by about 35 °C under comparable conditions.
The lower intake air temperature supports:
A more uniform combustion
A lower tendency to knock
More consistent performance at high ambient temperatures
Additional thermal reserves
More stable performance under repeated high loads
A more efficient use of the enlarged compressor
Optimized intake
The KT500 carbon airbox system with K&N sport air filter improves the engine's air supply. An enlarged intake manifold and the KT500 throttle body reduce restrictions on the intake side and are tailored to the higher air demand of the Edelbrock compressor.
The combination supports a direct response and a smooth power delivery over a wide RPM range.
Optimized exhaust system
A stainless steel header with optimized pipe lengths improves exhaust flow. The high-quality HJS 200-cell main catalytic converter reduces exhaust back pressure and, together with the header, forms a coordinated system.
The required lambda sensor cable extension is part of the performance phase.
Work490 software for the standard engine control unit
The Work490 continues to use the standard Lotus engine control unit.
The software optimization includes among other things:
Adjustment of ignition maps
Adjustment of injection maps
Adjustment of rev limiter
Adjustment of throttle valve map
Adjustment of camshaft phase adjustment
Tuning for the Edelbrock supercharger
Tuning for the water-to-air intercooler
Adjustment to the enlarged intake
Adjustment to the modified exhaust system
The software is tailored to the complete hardware configuration of the Work490.
Proven durability in practice
The Work490 has proven to be a very durable and reliable performance stage in our applications. Prerequisites for this are a technically flawless engine, proper installation and tuning, as well as strict adherence to the prescribed operating and maintenance conditions.
Engine condition, fuel quality, oil supply, temperatures, warm-up behavior, and intended use have a significant impact on long-term stability. Therefore, a blanket durability guarantee for already used or pre-damaged engines cannot be provided.
Recommendation for regular track day use
Regular use on the racetrack results in significantly higher thermal and mechanical stresses than normal road operation. This particularly affects pistons, connecting rods, bearings, and other components of the standard crankshaft drive.
For vehicles that are frequently used at track days, over longer full-load intervals, or under particularly high continuous loads, we therefore recommend considering a reinforced KOMO-TEC engine block upgrade.
The engine block upgrade creates additional mechanical safety reserves and provides a more robust foundation for regular track use.
Suitable for
Lotus Exige S V6 with manual transmission
Lotus Exige Sport 350 with manual transmission
Lotus Exige Sport 380 with manual transmission
Lotus Evora S with manual transmission
Not intended for vehicles with IPS transmission.
The exact compatibility must be checked before ordering based on vehicle model, year of manufacture, engine control unit, emission standard, and existing modifications.

Important Note
Before the conversion, the engine, supercharger peripherals, fuel supply, cooling system, and drivetrain must be checked for their technical condition.
The Work490 must be professionally installed and matched to the complete vehicle configuration. After the conversion, all relevant operating parameters must be checked.
The regulatory usability must be checked before ordering based on the specific vehicle and the respective country of registration.
