High-performance valve springs for Toyota 2GR V6
The high-performance valve spring set was developed for sportily used and performance-enhanced Lotus models with the Toyota 2GR-FE V6 engine. Compared to the standard valve springs, the springs offer approximately 35% more spring force, allowing for more precise control of the valve train at high RPMs and dynamic load changes.
The set includes all 24 valve springs of the engine and can be used optionally with the standard spring retainers or with our titanium valve spring retainers.
Increased safety during over-revving
In vehicles with the 2GR-FE engine, depending on the operating condition and engine configuration, even a relatively small over-rev of about 300 to 400 RPM can lead to insufficient control of the valve movement.
In the worst case, the valves can come into contact with the pistons. Possible consequences include bent or broken valves as well as severe damage to the pistons, cylinder head, and combustion chamber.
The reinforced valve springs significantly reduce the risk of valve float and uncontrolled valve movements. This creates additional safety reserves for very sporty driving styles, performance-enhanced engines, as well as track day and racing use.
Approx. 35% higher spring force
The high-performance springs provide about 35% more spring force than the standard valve springs. The higher spring force supports a controlled return of the valves and improves the connection of the valve drive to the camshaft profile.
This is particularly important in:
High engine speeds
Rapid changes in speed
Increased boost pressure
Modified camshafts
Frequent full-load operation
Track day and racing use
Designed for speeds up to 7,700 rpm
With a technically suitable engine configuration, the valve springs allow speeds of up to 7,700 rpm.
However, the permissible maximum speed is not determined solely by the valve springs. Valves, spring retainers, locking wedges, camshafts, pistons, connecting rods, and other engine components must also be suitable for the intended speed.
In addition, the engine management and rev limiter must be properly adapted to the complete engine setup.
For camshaft lifts up to 13.5 mm
The high-performance valve springs are suitable for camshafts with a valve lift of up to 13.5 mm.
With modified camshafts, the following points must be checked before commissioning:
Remaining spring travel to the block position
Installation height of the valve springs
Spring force with closed and open valve
Distance between spring plate and valve stem seal
Clearance between valves and pistons
Condition of spring plates and locking wedges
Suitable for
Lotus Exige S3 V6
Lotus Evora
Lotus 3-Eleven
Lotus Emira V6
Other Lotus models with Toyota 2GR-FE engine after technical inspection
The exact compatibility must be checked before ordering based on vehicle model, year of manufacture, engine version, camshafts, and existing valve drive.

Important installation note
The installation involves a safety-relevant component of the valve train and may only be carried out by a qualified engine specialist.
Before assembly, valves, valve guides, spring plates, retaining wedges, and camshafts must be checked for condition and suitability. Installation height, spring travel, block dimensions, valve clearance, and all mechanical distances must be checked according to the technical specifications.
After installation, the timing and the complete mechanical clearance of the valve drive must be checked.
Important Note
Reinforced valve springs can significantly reduce the risk of engine damage due to insufficient valve control, but they do not provide complete protection against severe mechanical over-revving.
The approval of up to 7,700 RPM requires that the entire engine assembly is suitable for this speed. The valve springs alone do not automatically increase the permissible maximum RPM or engine power.
