KOMO-TEC performance phase EX530 for Lotus Exige V6
The KOMO-TEC performance phase EX530 is the consistent further development of the proven Work490. It combines its powerful Edelbrock supercharger system with a fully modified engine, a reinforced valve train, and the freely programmable ECUmaster EMU Pro16 engine control unit.
The result is approximately 532 hp and 570 Nm. Depending on the base model, this corresponds to a power increase of up to approximately 180 hp and 160 Nm.
The EX530 was developed over a period of two years and extensively tested. It has been built multiple times and has proven to be a powerful and reliable overall concept in practice.

Further development of the Work490
The Work490 provides a powerful foundation with its Edelbrock supercharger and integrated water-to-air intercooling. For the EX530, this concept is comprehensively further developed and combined with a reinforced engine.
The additional power is not solely achieved by increasing the boost pressure. Instead, the engine, supercharger, intake, intercooling, belt drive, exhaust system, fuel supply, and engine management are optimized as a complete system.
This creates the necessary mechanical and thermal safety reserves for a reliable engine performance of more than 530 hp.
Reinforced engine construction
For the EX530, the engine is removed, completely disassembled, cleaned, and measured.
The standard pistons and connecting rods are replaced with specially developed KT forged pistons from Wiseco and high-strength KT steel connecting rods in X-Beam design. Pistons and connecting rods are balanced and assembled as coordinated units.
A new KT connecting rod bearing set and ARP cylinder head studs complement the reinforced engine build. The main bearing channel is checked and reworked professionally if necessary.
If damage, excessive wear, or unacceptable dimensional deviations are found during disassembly, additional machining or replacement parts may be required. These are not automatically included in the described standard scope.
Reinforced valve train
The valve train receives reinforced valve springs and lightweight titanium valve spring retainers.
This combination improves the control of valve movements at high RPMs and creates additional safety reserves for the increased engine performance as well as the demanding track day and racing use.
Modified Edelbrock-1740 supercharger
The Edelbrock-1740 supercharger is modified by KOMO-TEC and tailored to the requirements of the EX530.
In vehicles with the Eaton-1320 supercharger, it replaces the standard supercharger system. Additionally, the belt drive and pulley are adapted to the new configuration.
Despite the extensive technical changes, the production-like appearance in the style of the Exige Sport 410 and Cup 430 is retained.
Optimized intake
The KT500+ carbon airbox system with K&N sport air filter improves the air supply to the supercharger.
The complete intake air routing is tailored to the increased air demand of the EX530. Flow losses are reduced and a uniform air supply to all cylinders is supported.
Water-air intercooler system
The integrated water-air charge air cooling dissipates the heat generated during compression via a separate coolant circuit.
An electrically and variably controlled water pump transports the coolant between the charge air cooler in the compressor system and the high-performance heat exchanger at the front of the vehicle. A KOMO-TEC aluminum tank provides the necessary coolant reserve.
Compared to an uncooled configuration, the intake air temperature can be reduced by about 35 °C under comparable conditions. The pressure loss in the cooler network is only about 0.01 bar at approximately 0.8 bar boost pressure.
The additional weight of the complete charge air cooling system, including the heat exchanger, is approximately 7.8 kg without coolant.
Optimized exhaust system
A KOMO-TEC stainless steel manifold specifically developed for the EX500+ performance class with optimized pipe lengths improves exhaust flow.
The system is complemented by a KOMO-TEC stainless steel downpipe and a high-quality HJS 200-cell main catalyst. All components are tuned to the increased exhaust throughput of the EX530.
ECUmaster EMU Pro16 engine control unit
The EX530 uses a freely programmable ECUmaster EMU Pro16 engine control unit with a KOMO-TEC plug-and-play adapter.
The individual tuning includes among other things:
Ignition maps
Injection maps
Camshaft phase adjustment
Electronic throttle
Rev limiter
Wideband lambda control
Knock control
Intake air temperature compensation
Control of the electric water pump
Adaptation to compressor, intake and exhaust system
The KOMO-TEC integration allows for the retention of relevant vehicle functions and communication with existing Lotus systems.
Suitable for
Lotus Exige S V6
Lotus Exige Sport 350
Lotus Exige Sport 380
Other Exige V6 models after technical inspection
The exact compatibility and the required modification scope must be checked before ordering based on vehicle model, year of manufacture, compressor version, engine condition, and existing modifications.

Prescribed fuel quality
For the EX530, fuel with at least 98 RON is required. Depending on tuning and application, a higher fuel quality may be necessary or recommended.
A permanently suitable fuel quality is an essential requirement for the intended performance and reliable engine operation.
Important operating and break-in notice
The newly built engine must be broken in according to the specified break-in procedure. Load, RPM, and operating conditions must be strictly adhered to during this phase.
Even after the break-in phase, engine oil level, operating pressures, temperatures, fuel supply, and other relevant parameters must be regularly checked. For track use, maintenance and inspection intervals should be shortened accordingly.
Important approval notice
Motorsport kit – without street approval!
The performance phase EX530 is not approved for use in public road traffic under the scope of the StVO/StVZO. It is intended solely for motorsport and use on closed tracks.
