KOMO-TEC performance phase ZR265 for Lotus Elise with 2ZR engine
The KOMO-TEC performance phase ZR265 was specifically developed for the Lotus Elise S with a 1.8-liter 2ZR supercharged engine. With a power output of approximately 263 hp and a maximum torque of around 280 Nm, it offers a significantly noticeable increase in performance compared to the stock vehicle.
Especially in the mid-range RPM, the additional torque is available earlier. Already at 3,800 rpm, about 250 Nm is available. This results in a stronger response, more pulling power, and a significantly more dynamic power delivery.
Performance data
ZR265: approx. 263 hp and 280 Nm
Stock: approx. 220 hp and 250 Nm according to factory specifications
Power increase: approx. 43 hp
Torque increase: approx. 30 Nm
Already approx. 250 Nm at 3,800 rpm
The specified performance values may vary slightly depending on vehicle condition, fuel quality, environmental conditions, and dyno.
Holistically developed performance package
The 1.8-liter 2ZR engine of the Elise S belongs to a completely new generation of engines compared to the previously used 2ZZ engine. In addition, the 2ZR supercharger system already comes standard with a water-cooled intercooler.
The greatest potential for performance enhancement in this vehicle lies in the exhaust system. The standard exhaust manifold has a comparatively small pipe cross-section and aerodynamically unfavorable pipe lengths.
Therefore, the performance phase ZR265 combines a flow-optimized 4-in-1 stainless steel header with a high-quality 200-cell sport catalytic converter from HJS. The system is complemented by a K&N sport air filter and a modified supercharger ratio.
High-quality 200-cell sport catalytic converter from HJS
In the performance phase ZR265, a high-quality HJS brand sport catalytic converter is deliberately used. It is not a cheap universal or no-name catalytic converter.
The 200-cell HJS sport catalytic converter combines a high exhaust throughput with excellent build quality and high thermal resistance. It is an important component of the tuned overall system and is also suitable for the increased demands of performance-enhancing modifications.
In combination with the stainless steel header, a sporty and present sound is created, without being unpleasantly intrusive during normal driving.
Modified supercharger ratio
Compared to the performance phase ZR250, the ZR265 additionally receives a modified supercharger ratio. For this, the pulley and ribbed belt are adjusted accordingly.
The higher compressor performance is combined with changes to the intake and exhaust systems as well as a specially tuned engine software. This creates a harmonious overall package with smooth power delivery.
Individual software tuning
The optimization of the standard engine control unit includes the adjustment of:
Ignition maps
Injection maps
Camshaft phase adjustment
Throttle valve opening
All changes are precisely tailored to the hardware components of the performance phase ZR265. The result is a homogeneous power delivery with approximately 263 hp peak power and a maximum torque of around 280 Nm.
Dynamometer run and power diagram
When installed in our facility, the vehicle is checked on the dynamometer after the work is completed. The function of the overall system as well as the power and torque development are monitored under controlled conditions.
The determined power and torque values are documented in an individual power diagram.
Proven and durable
The performance phase ZR265 is not a theoretical individual project, but has already been successfully used in numerous vehicles. The complete system has been tested multiple times and is designed for reliable, long-lasting function with professional installation, correct operation, and regular maintenance.
All components have been developed as a complete system and are coordinated with each other. This allows the ZR265 to combine a noticeably increased performance with good drivability and high everyday usability.

Note on the shipping kit
The shipping kit does not include the installation of the components or the measurement on our dynamometer. Accordingly, no vehicle-specific power diagram will be created for this version.
For the programming of the standard engine control unit, the shipping kit includes a KT-ECU Programming Tool (Item No. 2209-012) attached. This allows the KOMO-TEC software intended for performance phase ZR265 to be transferred to the engine control unit.
The installation of all hardware components must be carried out by a suitably qualified specialist company in the shipping kit.
Important assembly note
The performance phase has been developed as a complete system. For the specified performance values and proper function, all components must be professionally installed and used together with the intended KOMO-TEC software calibration.
After the conversion, all relevant operating parameters, especially fuel supply, air-fuel ratio, boost pressure, and temperatures, must be checked. Assembly and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified specialist company.
Note on approval
Changing performance and emissions-relevant components may affect the vehicle's operating permit. The permissibility and necessary approval for public road traffic must be checked before the conversion, depending on the vehicle, design, and country of use.
