PFC 08 Brake Pads for the Rear Axle – Lotus Elise and Exige
The PFC-08 brake pads from Performance Friction have been specifically designed for endurance racing and demanding track days. The compound combines a medium friction coefficient with a soft response, high temperature stability, and very low wear.
Despite the consistent motorsport design, the pads offer very good cold braking performance. This provides reliable braking action even at low starting temperatures.
PFC 08 Compound
The PFC 08 compound is characterized by a medium friction coefficient that slightly increases with temperature. This allows the braking effect to build up in a controlled manner and remain stable and predictable even under prolonged high load.
The soft response allows for precise modulation of the rear axle brake. This supports a balanced braking balance and stable vehicle behavior during braking and turning in.
Temperature Range
Recommended operating temperature range: approx. 100 to 700 °C
Very good response at low starting temperatures
Medium Friction Coefficient
Friction coefficient that slightly increases with temperature
High temperature stability under sustained load
Consistent braking performance over long driving intervals
Low tendency to fade
Developed for endurance use
The balanced friction characteristics and low wear make the PFC 08 particularly interesting for long turns and endurance racing. The compound also offers consistent and well-controllable braking performance over a longer usage period.
The low wear affects both the brake pad and the brake disc. This allows for extended service life of the components and reduces operating costs in motorsport.
Gentle on the brake discs
The progressive and soft response behavior puts comparatively low stress on the brake discs. At the same time, the noise development is low compared to many other pure motorsport compounds.
However, depending on the brake disc, brake caliper, temperature, and operating conditions, motorsport-typical brake noises cannot be completely ruled out.

Important note on brake balance
The friction coefficient combination at the front and rear axle affects the brake balance of the vehicle. The PFC 08 compound must therefore be selected according to the friction mixture used on the front axle, the braking system, and the intended use.
Important installation and break-in note
The installation involves a safety-relevant component and must be carried out by a qualified specialist. Brake discs, calipers, and brake fluid must be checked for condition and suitability before installation.
New brake pads must be bedded in according to the break-in procedure specified by Performance Friction. Only after a properly conducted break-in process may the pads be fully loaded.
Important approval note
Motorsport part – without street approval!
The PFC-08 brake pads are not approved for use in public road traffic within the scope of the StVO/StVZO. They are intended exclusively for motorsport and use on closed tracks.
