KOMO-TEC Carbon Airbox System for Lotus Exige V6 and Evora
The KOMO-TEC Carbon Airbox System was specifically developed for the Lotus Exige S V6, the Lotus Evora S, and the Evora-400+ models. It forms the basis of our performance levels EV/EX410, 430 and 460, but can also be used on stock vehicles.
The significantly enlarged filter area compared to the stock airbox allows for a much higher air throughput. Even compared to many market-standard systems, the KOMO-TEC Airbox offers a larger usable filter area and thus optimal conditions for a consistent and powerful air supply to the engine.
The system is connected to the original air intake of the vehicle. This specifically supplies cool outside air and creates a supporting ram-air effect while driving. The optimized airflow and increased air volume improve cylinder filling and create the conditions for a significant increase in power and torque.
In conjunction with a suitable software adjustment, increases of up to about 20 hp are possible even with otherwise standard vehicles. The system has been in use for many years, has been sold hundreds of times, and has proven to be extremely robust and reliable even with high-performance vehicles.

The actual achievable increase in power depends on the vehicle model, base power, additional modifications, and software adjustment.
Important note on software adjustment
We recommend using the carbon airbox system in conjunction with a custom-tuned engine software. Due to the significantly increased airflow, the injected fuel quantity must also be adjusted accordingly to maintain the correct air-fuel ratio.
If the additional airflow is not taken into account, the mixture can become too lean under certain operating conditions. This can lead to increased combustion temperatures and, in the worst case, engine damage.
An intake system that requires no software adjustment typically does not provide a comparably high airflow that can be utilized for a significant increase in performance. To fully and safely exploit the performance potential of the KOMO-TEC carbon airbox, we therefore recommend a professional software tuning and monitoring of the mixture formation.
