KOMO-TEC Grooved Disc Brake Discs 288 mm for Lotus Elise Exige

The KOMO-TEC Grooved Disc Brake Discs are a high-quality replacement for the stock brake discs of selected Lotus Elise and Exige models. They combine a sporty look with consistent responsiveness and an attractive price-performance ratio.

With a diameter of 288 mm the dimensions match those of the stock Lotus brake discs. This allows them to be installed as a direct replacement without modifications to the vehicle.

Precisely machined grooves

Instead of holes, the brake discs feature precisely machined grooves. These support the continuous cleaning of the brake pads and direct brake dust and water away from the friction surface.

This improves the contact between the brake pad and brake disc and supports a consistent response – especially during sporty driving and changing weather conditions.

Since continuous holes are omitted, there are no stress peaks caused by holes. This reduces the risk of crack formation originating from the holes compared to many drilled brake discs.

Direction-dependent internal ventilation

The brake discs are direction-dependent internally ventilated and are supplied as left and right versions. The targeted airflow supports heat dissipation and ensures uniform thermal loading.

During installation, the prescribed direction of rotation must be strictly observed.

Black corrosion protection coating

A black protective coating protects the brake discs from corrosion during storage and operation while also providing a sporty appearance.

The coating on the friction surface is automatically removed during the first properly conducted braking processes. The corrosion protection remains intact on the areas not touched by the brake pads.

Scope of delivery

  • 1 × brake disc left

  • 1 × brake disc right

  • 1 × ABE or associated approval documents

The scope of delivery consists of a total of two brake discs for one axle. Brake pads and other mounting materials are not included unless explicitly listed separately.

ABE and approval

The brake discs are delivered with ABE or KBA approval. When used within the vehicle and application range specified in the ABE and adhering to all included conditions, no separate registration is required.

Before installation, it must be checked whether the specific vehicle is fully covered by the scope of the supplied documents.

Important installation and break-in note

The braking system is safety-relevant. Installation may only be carried out by a qualified specialist.

Before installation, brake calipers, brake pads, wheel hubs, brake lines, and brake fluid must be checked for condition and suitability. The brake discs must be installed according to their direction of rotation.

New brake discs and brake pads must be properly broken in according to the technical specifications after installation. During the break-in phase, strong continuous braking and unnecessary thermal overload should be avoided.
