KOMO-TEC Oil Catch Tank System for Lotus Exige V6 and 3-Eleven
In sporty driven Lotus Exige V6 and 3-Eleven, especially during fast track day events and high lateral accelerations, there can be problems with the crankcase ventilation.
Under high G-forces, the engine oil is significantly displaced in the engine. This can allow oil or larger amounts of oil mist to enter the intake system through the crankcase ventilation and accumulate, among other places, in the area of the compressor and on the compressor shafts.
After a driving break, this oil can be drawn in and burned upon restarting. A typical sign of this is a clearly visible white-blue smoke cloud from the exhaust after the restart.
The solution: the KOMO-TEC Catch Tank System
The oil catch tank system specifically developed for the Lotus Exige V6 and the 3-Eleven catches the oil escaping through the crankcase ventilation before it can enter the intake tract.
The separated oil is directed into the catch tank and collected there. This reduces the excessive oil entry into the intake system and compressor. At the same time, the system counteracts the typical smoke development after restart.
Especially for vehicles that are regularly used in track days or motorsport, the catch tank system is a sensible addition.
Simple and clean installation
The catch tank is mounted directly to the rear wall of the engine compartment using the included vehicle-specific bracket. No additional drilling on the body is required.
The high-quality Aeroquip fittings allow for reliable integration into the ventilation system and ensure a clean installation.

Important maintenance note
The oil collected in the catch tank must be checked regularly and the container emptied in a timely manner. The required inspection intervals depend on the vehicle, engine condition, and usage profile and should be shortened accordingly for intensive track use.
Additionally, the engine oil level must be checked regularly and corrected as needed according to the manufacturer's specifications. An overfilled catch tank can no longer reliably perform its function.
