Rennkalender

The LCE is divided into three categories:

  • V6 Cup - for the Exige V6 Cup and Evora GT4;
  • 2-Eleven - for four-cylinder compressor Open-Top 2-Eleven, or for four-cylinder Exige Cup vehicles, 340R and for Elise & Exige, which are not permitted to the other categories mentioned;

The system of awarding points in the championship is balanced in such a way that drivers from all three categories have the same chance to fight for the overall title. The Belgian John Rasse won the title in 2017, driving in the V6 Cup category, the Hungarian Tamas Vizin drove a production car to the championship in 2016 and the Frenchman Jérémy Lourenco won the championship 2014 with a 2-Eleven.

The calendar of the Lotus Cup Europe includes the most beautiful race tracks of the continent, all of which have a long history with the Formula 1 Grand Prix, including the classic venues Spa-Francorchamps, Hockenheim and Le Mans. The races consist of a training and qualifying run as well as two or three half-hour races.

The Lotus Cup Europe is well supported by the Lotus Community and many enthusiasts are attending these events. The championship has its own, hours-long TV program. All seven events will be broadcast on Motors TV and Facebook across Europe.

The LCE participates this year three times in the supporting program of the DTM, this also shows the positive perception of this race series in Europe.
