In 1998, Komo-Tec and Melkus Sportwagen started their cooperation. Yet the first project (Lotus Exige MK1) founded a successful and intensive workmanship. Plenty of victories in several racing series (as the STT and the Lotus Cup) revealed the potential of this joint venture. In 2007, Melkus decided to retro-relaunch the legendary sportscar-icon - the RS1000 - and created the RS2000, a sportscar which is basing on Lotus-components.
In cause of Komo-Tec´s well established market position regarding the product development, individualisation and upgrading of Lotus sportscars in combination with the longterm heritage cooperation of both companies, the decision for this common project was just a matter of fact.
Komo-Tec exclusively equipes the Melkus RS2000 with the well-known and established Turbodrive 250S-Supercharger-System - the power output figures in 270 PS. As an optional upgrade, Melkus also proudly offers Komo-Tec´s high-end products - as for example an uprated sports brake system, an multi-adjustable suspension kit, featherlight forged rims and an alloy baffled oilpan.
