The biggest handicap of the Lotus S Version is clearly its the intercooler system. Through an air inlet in the roof, which is only a few square centimeters wide, and a rubber hose, the cool air must find its tight way to the air/air intercooler.
We have measured about 80 degrees of inlet air temperature, which is not helping the performance and reliability of the engine. This forces Lotus to remap the ECU to address this problem.
As a result, we have decided to fit a water "jacket" around the intercooler where water will circulate through an electrical water pump to the heat exchange cooler which is located at the front of the car. The concept is similar to our "Turbodrive" conversion and well proven.
The substantial lowering of the load air temperature now permits the optimization of the ECU map.
The Phase3 kit is based on the well proven Phase2 S280 Kit. To achieve the additional extrapower we modified further the ECU mapping and the KT-Airbox System we additional fit a 4:1 stainless steel exhaust manifold. Power and torque is both stronger over the whole powerband.

Cars which are already fitted with Phase 2 (s280) are able to be upgraded to S300 kit. Price is 1.850.-
ADDITIONAL NOTE: To achieve the above mentioned increase of power, it´s absolutely neccessary to use a sports silencer. Our KT-sports exhaust reveals the maximum power output, but other sports exhausts can be also used after consulting. The OEM silencer as well as the stage 1 version can´t be used, because both aren´t competible with the sports catalyzer which is part of this kit.
